Aurélia Marie is a Partner at BDL and the head of trademarks, designs, domain names and copyright department.
She specialises in the law of distinctive signs (trademarks, company names, trade names, domain names, etc.), designs and copyright, both as regards acquiring such rights and exploiting them. She also has wide expertise in conducting due diligence reviews on portfolios of trademarks and designs, contracts, advertising law and unfair competition.
She is a European and French Trademark and Design attorney with a post-graduate degree in the law and practice of international contracts from the University of Paris X (1986). She began her career working in the agreements and IP department of a large industrial group. She obtained her certificate of qualification to practise as a barrister in 1987 and then practised as an attorney-at-law for several years in a firm specialising in IP law. At the same time she obtained a post-graduate degree in IP law from the University of Paris II (1988). She joined BDL in 1993 and became Partner in 2003.
