Adraea Brown leads the in-house team of one of the most well-known brands in the world—Harley-Davidson—with a brand valued at more than $5 billion. She is the first African-American to hold this position in the company’s 116-year history. In her role, Brown has strategic oversight and management of Harley-Davidson’s 5,000 plus global trademark portfolio. Brown also focuses on global brand enforcement, litigation, and support of the licensing and strategic brand alliance programmes, in addition training internal company staff on trademark matters. She played an instrumental in obtaining the largest damages award ($19.2 million) against a single infringer, a print-on-demand t-shirt manufacturer, in the company’s history. Brown previously served as an associate attorney at The PLK Law Group between 2010 and 2015, before joining Harley-Davidson as corporate trademark counsel. She was promoted in 2018 to her current role. In addition to being an INTA member, Brown is also a 2018 fellow for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
