Taylor Ludlam

Key details

  • Job title: Vice President, Chief Intellectual Property and Litigation Officer
  • Firm: Lenovo
  • Jurisdiction: US

Taylor Ludlam leads technology company Lenovo’s worldwide legal defence, patent portfolio management, and standard-essential patent (SEP) strategy. She initially transitioned from private practice to corporate in-house counsel in April 2022 when she joined Lenovo as the executive director of global litigation.

Following her strong performance, she was promoted to vice president and Chief IP and litigation officer in April 2025, succeeding John Mulgrew. Today, she manages a complex portfolio of international commercial and intellectual property disputes, establishes standard operating procedures for trademark protections and open-source compliance, and collaborates with global business units to forecast regulatory risks.

Ludlam earned acclaim for spearheading Lenovo’s SEP litigation strategy. Her most notable victory culminated in April 2025 when she successfully resolved a massive, multi-jurisdictional telecommunications patent battle against Ericsson. This settlement established a binding cross-licensing framework and subsequent arbitration.

Before her tenure at Lenovo, Ludlam built an extensive 18-year career in private practice as a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton from 2004 to 2022.

During her time there, she directed the firm’s patent litigation team in North Carolina and focused primarily on high-tech and telecommunications disputes. A standout achievement in her private practice career was co-leading a trial team representing GREE against Supercell, which secured more than one hundred million dollars in jury verdicts.

Beyond her corporate and trial victories, Ludlam is a dedicated advocate for mentoring and advancing women within the tech and legal sectors, frequently speaking on how female attorneys can leverage corporate entrepreneurial culture to secure leadership positions.
