Paris firm merges with TM boutique

Acquisition aims to reinforce larger firm’s trademark law offering.

French law firm Lavoix has announced that it has acquired Marcuria, a law firm specialising in trademark law.

Paris-based Lavoix advises a wide range of companies and public-sector entities including large companies, SMEs, universities, research centres, and public laboratories and also offers a dedicated programme for start-ups.

Marcuria was founded by IP attorneys Claire Ardanouy and Emmanuelle Jaeger, who have both been admitted to the Paris Bar. The firm is also involved in managing litigation and defending IP rights.

Marcuria advises clients on the management of their trademark and design portfolios before  the French Industrial Property Office (INPI), the EU Intellectual Property Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Ardanouy has worked in the field of IP since 1985, beginning her career as a lawyer working as in-house counsel for two French corporations in the energy and IT business.

Jaeger has worked as an IP specialist since 1991 and is a lecturer in trademarks, designs and models, and copyrights at the professional courses of the INPI.

“We are delighted to welcome Marcuria to Lavoix. Their experience will reinforce Lavoix’s positioning in trademark law, and enable us to provide our clients with the best possible advice from a strong team with a taste for challenge,” said Béatrice Daubin, Lavoix partner and head of the firm’s trademark practice.

“Joining Lavoix means joining a major player in IP in France and internationally,” said Ardanouy and Jaeger.

“It means offering our clients the qualities of a group of this scale, while continuing to provide them with a dedicated service,” they added.
