Simon Miles is a solicitor and chartered trademark attorney at Edwin Coe. He works with clients on contentious and transactional intellectual property, IT and data matters across a range of industries including media, entertainment, advertising, sport, fashion, cosmetics, restaurants, foodstuffs, and electronics. Miles is legal adviser to ECTA and is a former council member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, where he is on the law committee and the design and copyright working group. His notable cases include Philips v Remington (the leading “shape” trademark case), the CJEU Football Fixtures database cases, and Nvidia v Hardware Labs (groundless threats and passing off).
