Ropes & Gray promotes 33 to counsel

Ropes & Gray has promoted 33 lawyers to counsel across its offices, including two appointments in the IP transactions team and two in the IP litigation team.

David Chen, based in Shanghai, has been promoted to counsel in the IP transactions team. He focuses his practice on licensing arrangements, joint ventures, technology transfers, and research and development activities.

New York-based Michael Kurzer has also been promoted in the IP transactions team. Kurzer provides counselling on IP, IT and, as a certified privacy professional, data privacy and security.

In the IP litigation team, Kathryn Hong (Silicon Valley) and Han Xu (Tokyo) were promoted.

Hong represents clients in patent matters across a range of technologies, including consumer electronics, wireless communications and semiconductors.

Xu has litigation experience across several sectors such as computer hardware and software, semiconductors and web technologies.
