Barnes & Thornburg welcomes Brinks Gilson & Lione shareholder

Barnes & Thornburg has welcomed Peter Nichols as partner in the firm’s Chicago office.

Nichols has more than 25 years of experience and focuses his practice on patent procurement strategies and portfolio management. He also assists with global utility and design patent applications, and represents clients at the US Patent and Trademark office.

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Nichols served as shareholder at Brinks Gilson & Lione.

His clients are based across a range of industries including chemicals, electronics, and mechanical technologies.

Mark Rust, managing partner at the firm’s Chicago office, said Nichols is a “fantastic addition” to the team and will strengthen Barnes & Thornburg’s IP capabilities.
