Manisha Singh is the founder and managing partner of LexOrbis, a leading intellectual property law firm in India, which she established in 1997 with a group of like-minded professionals. The firm was founded at a pivotal moment in India’s legal and economic development following the country’s implementation of the TRIPS Agreement in 1995, with a vision of combining international IP practice standards with strong domestic expertise.

With over 27 years of experience, Singh is widely regarded as one of India’s leading intellectual property lawyers. She is both a patent agent and litigator, with a practice spanning patent strategy and prosecution, trademark protection, IP litigation, licensing and commercialisation.

She advises universities, publicly funded research institutions, multinational corporations, technology companies and emerging enterprises on developing and managing commercially viable intellectual property portfolios aligned with business objectives. 

Singh has represented clients before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, District Courts and tribunals, and has served as standing counsel for the Reserve Bank of India for more than two decades. Her practice extends across more than 138 countries, covering jurisdictions in Asia-Pacific, the US, Europe, the United Kingdom, Latin America and the Middle East and North Africa.

As managing partner, she plays a central role in the strategic and operational leadership of LexOrbis, focusing on efficient workflows, service delivery and the integration of technology-enabled legal processes.

She is actively involved in policy engagement and thought leadership, working with policymakers, the judiciary and industry stakeholders to strengthen India’s intellectual property framework and align it with international standards. 

She also participates in international and professional organisations including AIPLA, INTA, AIPPI, APAA, LESI, FICPI, ECTA, MARQUES, WIPF, PTMG, IBA and WLA, contributing to discussions on global IP harmonisation, enforcement and policy development.

Singh is deeply committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, mentoring young professionals and supporting the advancement of women in intellectual property law. Through LexOrbis and its association with Haath ka Bana (Made by Hand), she also supports artisan communities across India, promoting geographical indications protection and raising awareness of IP rights among traditional creators.
