K&L Gates lands IP disputes team for Frankfurt office

Firm hires partner from Norton Rose Fulbright and team of trademark specialists in Germany | Experienced group has expertise in fashion and luxury goods.

K&L Gates has expanded its IP offering in Frankfurt with the addition of a new partner and team of trademark specialists.

Daniel Marschollek joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he spent over ten years as a partner, and moves with counsel Manuel Merling, two paralegals, and an assistant.

Marschollek and his team specialise in complex trademark, design, copyright, antitrust and competition disputes.

He has represented blue-chip clients across industries including sport, fashion, luxury goods, telecomms, automotive and pharmaceutical.

Managing partner Rüdiger von Hülst said: “With Daniel Marschollek, Manuel Merling and team, we are gaining an experienced group of lawyers and employees who can offer our clients an integrated, cross-location and cross-border service.

“We are delighted that Daniel and his team will help take our intellectual property practice to the next level and, in particular, be able to advise clients from the fashion and luxury goods industry on a wide range of legal issues that they face in Europe.”

Marschollek commented: “I am looking forward to working at K&L Gates and the new tasks. I am particularly excited about working with the teams around partners Friederike Gräfin von Brühl in Berlin, Arthur Artinian and Simon Casinader in London and Jonathan Feder in Melbourne—all proven experts in their fields.

“We will complement each other excellently and together we will be able to provide our clients with the best possible advice.”

"The addition of Daniel and his team demonstrates that the firm is responsive to the needs of our clients in the intellectual property area, particularly in the highly specialised areas of trademark, antitrust and competition law,” said Bob Barrett , co-leader of the IP practice at K&L Gates.

“We are pleased to welcome the team to the firm.”

K&L Gates has added IP attorneys to the firm elsewhere over the past year, including in Charlotte, Los Angeles and Washington, as well as a six-person, multi-office patent team.
