Mewburn Ellis names new head of trademark practice
Promoted leader wants to utilise AI for improving client experience | Brings expertise on strategic advice for international brands.
Mewburn Ellis has appointed Andy King as its new head of the trademark practice group and he becomes a member of the management board, from November 1, 2023.
In this new role, he aims to explore how AI can improve the delivery of the group’s services and the client experience.
King highlighted the ongoing efforts within the industry to address “a series of seismic global challenges” with far-reaching implications for brand protection.
“The rapid pace of AI evolution offers significant challenges and opportunities to businesses of all sizes, some of which, are yet to be realised,” he added.
King has over 15 years of experience in trademark law, including experience as an authorised representative at the EU Intellectual Property Office prior to Brexit.
He has a specific focus on strategic advice on the selection, adoption, protection and enforcement of brands internationally.
King, who joined the firm in 2011, has represented clients at the UK Intellectual Property Office and World Intellectual Property Organisation and works with clients internationally across a wide range of industry sectors, with a particular interest in the motorsport industry
