D Young & Co hires IP counsel from Bird & Bird
Jana Bogatz, previously IP counsel at Bird & Bird, has joined D Young & Co as a partner in the firm’s Munich office, in Germany.
Bogatz has experience in contentious and non-contentious aspects of national and international trademark, design, and copyright law. Her work focuses on the development of global trademark and design filing strategies, and portfolio optimisation.
She also has expertise in advertising and unfair competition law, as well as the negotiation of IP-related agreements.
At Bird & Bird, Bogatz represented clients at the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Before practising law, she worked as an examiner at the European Trademark and Designs Office at the EUIPO.
Neil Nachshen, chair of D Young & Co, said that Bogatz will be an extremely valuable member of the team.
