Firm overview:
Clients go to Williams Powell for IP advice that places their business objectives first. Centrally located in London, the firm has diverse technical and legal expertise and offers a full service, from drafting to litigation.
Williams Powell provides high quality, competitively priced drafting, filing, prosecution and maintenance services. For direct clients, the provision also extends to invention harvesting and developing IP strategy. Increasingly, counsel from other firms turn to the team for UK patent matters, and the patent practice handles inventions related to everything from medical devices to drones.
The firm has a substantial litigation offering, and represents clients directly before the UK courts as well as the UK Intellectual Property Office, European Patent Office (EPO) and World Intellectual Patent Office.
Team overview:
The patent team comprises five partners, a senior associate, two consultants, and three trainee patent attorneys.
Robert Jehan leads the firm’s litigation practice, and has a wealth of experience across both non-contentious and contentious matters. His expertise in handling disputes is well informed by his extensive prosecution practice, with one informing the other on the best course of action for clients. Jehan authored the book European Patent Decisions, sold in 25 countries across the world, and has been involved in over 100 opposition and appeal proceedings at the EPO.
