In March 2025, the firm made its “friendship” with global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright more official, announcing the pair had received approval for a joint operation in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. The firms said the move would enhance Norton Rose Fulbright’s China offering and provide Shanghai Pacific Legal’s clients access to international legal services, as well as Norton Rose Fulbright’s global platform of over 3,000 lawyers.

Senior IP lawyer Frank Liu heads the IP practice at Shanghai Pacific Legal. His IP practice is broad, covering registration, protection, management and dealing with infringement. Liu’s clients have included Kraft Foods, Xiamen, Lenovo, and a number of Fortune 500 companies.
