Wilkinson & Grist
Firm overview:
A new entry for the 2025 rankings, Wilkinson & Grist is one of Hong Kong’s oldest firms, founded in 1886. The independent law firm opened an office in Beijing in 2000, and set up its own IP agency in Beijing in 2004. Intellectual property sits within a portfolio of comprehensive commercial legal services offered by the firm.
Wilkinson & Grist does “fantastic work” on trademark investigations and appeals, says a peer. Via its Beijing IP agency, the firm files and works directly with the China Trademark Office, and covers all services related to the protection and development of brands.
Team overview:
Partner Annie Tsoi heads the firm’s IP department, specialising in all facets of brand protection and enforcement in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Tsoi’s work highlights include representing a multinational electronics company in trademark infringement actions in Mainland China, and assisting US- and Europe-based clothing brands in acquiring trademarks and domains in Mainland China.
