Hogan Lovells
Firm overview:
A standout performer, Hogan Lovells is among the best international firms in China for both non-contentious and contentious trademark matters. The firm’s IP team in Beijing and Shanghai is widely respected for handling complex enforcement, litigation, and portfolio management for some of the world’s best-known brands. Its contentious practice is particularly lauded for high-profile wins in trademark infringement and administrative litigation. Combining technical expertise with commercial pragmatism, Hogan Lovells is among the elite choices for trademark protection in China.
Hogan Lovells is one of the most established international firms operating in Greater China, with about four decades of presence across the region. In China it benefits from four offices, namely: Beijing, Shanghai, Shanghai FTZ (via an association with Fidelity), and Hong Kong. The firm combines full-service capability with domestic legal standing through Hogan Lovells Fidelity, the association with Fujian Fidelity Law Firm in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, enabling it to provide both contentious and non-contentious PRC legal services. Its China trademark practice is part of a broader IP/IPMT (Intellectual Property, Media & Technology) group that handles prosecution, enforcement, litigation (both administrative and civil), trade dress, anti-counterfeiting, domain-name disputes, unfair competition, and trade secrets.

She is recognised for strong litigation experience, portfolio management, licensing, and enforcing IP rights under both administrative and civil regimes.
Also in Shanghai, Zhen (Katie) Feng is a trusted authority on IP law in China. Feng focuses on IP litigation and brand protection, and has more than two decades’ of private practice experience. Fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese, Feng is a former member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) Board of Directors and a former chief editor of INTA’s China Bulletin publication.

A partner in the Hong Kong office, Eugene Low is acknowledged for contentious IP/trademark matters in the Greater China region and has “always been very well regarded by clients”, according to a peer. Low leads the firm’s IP practice in Hong Kong and co-leads the video gaming practice at Hogan Lovells.
