Team overview:

Yalei Sun is a partner advising clients across hardware, software, telecommunications, medical equipment, and energy sectors on patent strategy, prosecution, licensing, and dispute resolution. He guides Chinese companies on patent portfolio management, IP due diligence, litigation, settlement negotiations, and US regulatory compliance, and works with Chinese law firms to help foreign clients enforce patents in China. Fluent in Chinese and English, Sun combines his technical background as a software engineer with legal training from Tsinghua University and Stanford University to navigate complex cross-border patent challenges.

Technology lawyer and patent litigator Shaobin Zhu left the firm in November 2024 to join DLA Piper.
