Team overview:

Jonathan Chu heads CMS’s IP practice in Hong Kong and Beijing, leading the Greater China team on complex patent matters. He advises on patent prosecution, enforcement, licensing, technology transfer, and IP due diligence, handling high-profile disputes and strategic transactions across life sciences, TMT, consumer goods, and entertainment. His experience coordinating cross-border enforcement campaigns ensures seamless support for clients’ patent portfolios in Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Supporting Chu, Mengyi Chen focuses on patent enforcement, licensing, and technology commercialisation. Qualified in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, she advises on high-value patent disputes and transactions, with significant experience in data privacy and the digital economy, particularly in life sciences, entertainment, and technology.

Candy Tong manages patent prosecution, portfolio strategy, and cross-border enforcement. She helped establish CMS’s first IP filing practice in Asia, doubling the firm’s IPR portfolio in Hong Kong, and provides guidance on contentious and non-contentious patent matters, including commercialisation and global portfolio management.
