Spencer Fane hires new partner with international focus
The firm’s new partner in Minneapolis will focus on patents and trademarks both in the US and internationally.
Spencer Fane has hired Michael Bondi as partner in the firm's IP practice group, who will be based in the firm’s office in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The new partner focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of US and foreign patent and trademark applications.
Bondi has fostered relationships with law firms in various countries, including China, Hong Kong, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and the UK.
“Michael brings both an exemplary track record and reputation in IP law but also a practical educational and professional background in chemical engineering,” said Donald Heeman, office managing partner for Spencer Fane.
“Our firm remains committed to helping clients translate their creativity into marketable products and services, and that begins with a true understanding of often complex and innovative businesses in emerging industries.
“Adding Michael to our bench reinforces and enhances this intentional focus and provides an additional collaborative resource for us to utilise.”
Bondi collaborates closely with large multinational corporations navigating trademark and patent portfolios, as well as smaller enterprises and individuals embarking on the initial stages of trademark and patent applications.
His expertise includes medical devices, plastic formulation and processing, food processing and packaging, agricultural fertilisers and feed, laser processing devices, and sporting equipment.
Bondi also specialises in internet-related issues, advising clients—both domestically and internationally—on matters such as domain name registration, transfer, and ownership dispute resolution.
