The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has delivered a mixed ruling in a patent dispute between Apple and IP licensing company VirnetX, after an earlier judgment ordered the smartphone maker to pay $440 million for infringement.

9 August 2019 Apple has asked for another en banc hearing in a $439 million case which found that its Facetime feature infringed two of VirnetX’s patents, after an appeals court found most of the patents’ claims to be unpatentable.
25 November 2019 The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit vacated a jury’s calculation that Apple award VirnetX $503 million in damages late last week.
25 February 2020 The US Supreme Court yesterday, February 24 rejected Apple’s request for the court to consider the technology company’s appeal in its dispute with software developer VirnetX.
