Sheppard Mullin opens Dallas office
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton has opened its eleventh US office—in Dallas, Texas.
Three IP-focused lawyers have joined the firm in the new office: Jennifer Ayers and Steven Schortgen from K&L Gates, and Jason Mueller from Locke Lord.
Ayers defends clients in patent, trademark, trade secret and domain name disputes, and has experience in matters involving computer hardware and software, IT systems, business process outsourcing services, semiconductors, and fitness equipment.
Schortgen, who will co-lead the office, advises a range of technology and media industry clients. He has first-chair experience in litigation involving patents, trademark, copyright and trade secret issues.
With a focus on IP and advertising issues, Mueller serves as lead trial counsel in copyright, trademark, patent, publicity and false advertising matters.
Jon Newby, vice chairman of Sheppard Mullin, said: “We will continue to expand in our existing markets, but Dallas is an ideal new market for future growth as we have nearly 100 clients who are either headquartered or have substantial operations in the area.”
