Rouse opens fifth Chinese office in Shenzhen

International IP firm  Rouse has opened a new office in Shenzhen, China.

The new office, which marks the company’s fifth in China and 13th in Asia Pacific, cements Rouse’s reputation “as the leading provider of IP services” in the Region, the firm said in a statement.

The firm currently has more than 300 professionals working in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

It said the Shenzhen office will offer a range of innovation support and consultancy services for Chinese companies looking to expand regionally, and foreign companies seeking to gain access to Chinese markets.

Luke Minford, chief executive of Rouse, described said the firm had chosen to open in Shenzhen because, “out of nowhere it has become a world-leader in innovation, offering technology companies a location in the heart of Asia that boasts advantages in manufacturing, logistics, design and research and development”.

Linda Chang, the general manager of Rouse said the opening of the new office “sends a very clear signal” to the market.

“No firm is better positioned to provide commercial IP consultancy to the global innovation community, whether seeking access to the market in China, or going out,” Chang said.

The opening of the office comes just three months after the opening of Rouse’s first office in Sweden, following the acquisition of Stockholm-based firm IPQ, as previously reported by  WIPR.
