Rouse appoints new chairman
IP firm Rouse has appointed John McLaren, a former diplomat and investment banker in Japan and the UK, as its new chairman.
McLaren succeeds Rupert Ross-Macdonald, who has served as chairman of Rouse since 2013. Ross-Macdonald will continue to play an active role in the business, sitting on the board as chief operating officer.
McLaren, who also worked in venture capital in the US and formerly served as a non-executive director of Rouse, said: “Rouse is one of the world’s leading IP consultancies and the strongest in Asia, which is why I am delighted to be joining at this exciting point in their development.”
He has worked extensively across several sectors, including automotive, electronics, biotech and luxury products.
Earlier this year, Yelena Tyson joined the firm as chief financial officer (CFO). She previously served as deputy CFO of Europe, Middle East & Africa at HR consultancy Korn Ferry.
Luke Minford, Rouse CEO, said: “We are extremely pleased to have two people of such high calibre join our team. The depth of international experience and business capability they bring couldn’t come at a more important time given the growth ambitions we have as a firm.”
