McGuireWoods appoints new partner
Brad Newberg has joined the IP litigation and patents department at McGuireWoods LLP as a partner.
Arriving from Reed Smith LLP, he has experience in counselling companies in all IP-related matters. He specialises in copyright, trademark and domain name disputes, and has practised before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
He follows Jason Cook, who, as WIPR reported in August, joined the Dallas office of McGuireWoods. Newberg will be based in the firm’s office in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
He said: "I cannot imagine a better place to expand my practice than McGuireWoods. I look forward to working with a top team representing our copyright and trademark clients not only in Virginia, but across the country."
Brian Riopelle, chairman of the firm’s IP litigation and patents department, said: “Brad has been a first-chair litigator in dozens of copyright and trademark cases, and his experience across various industries improves an already strong team that is a tremendous asset for our clients."
