Mayer Brown partner joins Williams Mullen
Clinton Brannon has joined Williams Mullen as a partner after spending nearly eight years at Mayer Brown.
Brannon, who will be based in the firm’s Tysons office in Virginia, has particular expertise in prosecuting patents for clients in highly technical fields such as electrical and mechanical arts. He also provides opinions relating to patent infringement and validity.
Over the past 12 years, Brannon has gained experience in patent litigation in federal district courts, as well as in inter partes reviews and ex parte patent re-examinations at the US Patent and Trademark Office. He has also advised clients on patent licensing and valuation.
Brannon has dealt with investigations at the US International Trade Commission and he assists clients with competition issues related to IP, including the licensing and enforcement of standard-essential patents.
Before he started practising law, Brannon worked as a network engineer at a telecommunications company.
Rob Van Arnam, IP practice chair of Williams Mullen, said: “We’re very excited to add Clint’s experience to our team of patent litigators and IP attorneys. He has an impressive base of knowledge across a range of highly technical fields, and we’re confident he is going to be an asset for our firm and our clients.”
