Mayer Brown adds SCOTUS litigator in Washington, DC

Nicole Saharsky, who Mayer Brown claims has argued more cases before the US Supreme Court than any other woman in the last decade, has joined has joined the firm's Washington, DC office as co-head of its Supreme Court and appellate practice.

She joins from Gibson Dunn, where she has been a partner for a year. Saharsky was an assistant to the solicitor general in the US Department of Justice for a decade before that.

Her cases have involved a broad range of business matters related to IP, data privacy, entertainment, telecommunications, and corporate criminal liability. Her IP cases have covered trademarks, copyright, and patents.

As well arguing 29 cases at the Supreme Court, Saharsky has briefed 45 cases on the merits and filed hundreds of certiorari-stage briefs and motions.

Saharsky has a scientific background, having earned an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering.

Michael Lackey, head of Mayer Brown’s global litigation and dispute resolution practice, said that Saharsky is one of the top advocates in the US.

He added: “She will be a terrific addition to the firm’s premier appellate practice.”
