Mathys & Squire appoints new IP team in Munich

UK-based IP firm Mathys & Squire has expanded its foothold in Europe with a new team in Munich.

The team will be led by Gerold Fiesser, who joins from German IP firm Herzog Fiesser & Partner Patentanwälte.

Fiesser’s practice focuses on both patent and trademark law, particularly on the prosecution, opposition, appeals and litigation of patent applications in the life sciences, personal care and beauty sectors.

Fiesser said he was “delighted to become part of such a prestigious top tier firm”.

He added: “One of the key factors for the move was the shared positive ethos between us and the genuine enthusiasm to collaborate in order to service all of our clients at the highest level.”

Fiesser will also be joined by Giuditta Biagini, Kirsten Wenck and Lorraine Aleandri-Hachgenei, from Herzog Fiesser & Partner Patentanwälte.

Biagini is a patent attorney specialising in the pharmaceutical and chemistry sectors.

Kirsten Wenck, a patent and trademark attorney, focuses on patent and trademark prosecution and opposition proceedings in the biochemistry fields.

Another patent and trademark attorney, Lorraine Aleandri-Hachgenei, specialises in oppositions, appeals and due diligence. Her work focuses on chemistry, physics and engineering.
