Francis Gurry has been nominated for a second term as the World Intellectual Property Organisation’s (WIPO) director general.
In an announcement published today, March 6, WIPO announced its coordination committee had nominated Gurry by more than 20 votes.
The coordination committee, which comprises 83 member states, voted on the list of four candidates.
Gurry (below) prevailed with 46 votes, with Nigerian Geoffrey Onyeama his nearest competitor, with 20 votes.
