UK law firm EIP has expanded its newly-opened office in San Diego with the hire of attorney Cynthia Arko.
Arko, (pictured below) who joined on August 14, is a registered US patent attorney and will be part of the firm’s San Diego office.The San Diego office was opened by EIP in May 2013.
Arko, who previously worked for TechLaw LLP and Knobbe Martens, both in San Diego, becomes the first attorney to be hired at the office.
She is a specialist in patents for acoustic, mechanical, medical and optical devices and advises clients on patentability, freedom to operate, infringement and validity but also has experience in trademark law.
Phillip Bennett, partner and head of the San Diego office, said the appointment tied in with an “exciting first few months for EIP in San Diego.”
“Arko possesses unique and wide-ranging legal skills which will enable EIP to continue to deliver excellent service to our clients,” he said.
