Trial lawyer Lisa Kobialka has handled more than 250 litigations across the US. She represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex business and IP disputes spanning patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, copyright, trademark infringement and unfair competition, with a particular focus on energy, networking, cybersecurity, semiconductors and pharmaceuticals.

Kobialka has been at the forefront of some of the most challenging IP trials in the US, including securing a $151.5 million jury verdict for Centripetal Networks in the Eastern District of Virginia in a patent infringement case involving network security technology. She also obtained a $23.5 million and separately a $30 million jury verdict in the District of Delaware in networking patent disputes, and recently achieved a $2 billion damages judgment in patent litigation involving a computer network security company.

In addition, Kobialka successfully represented a defendant in a shareholder dispute that went to trial in Virginia state court, and obtained a non-suit in a breach of contract and financial tort dispute in Fairfax County Circuit Court.

Kobialka’s courtroom record includes leadership roles in high-stakes litigation across multiple jurisdictions, and she is recognised for her ability to handle technically complex and strategically significant disputes for global clients.

Kobialka is a member of the American Bar Association, American IP Association, California Bar Association, Japanese American Bar Association, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and the Women’s Intellectual Property Law Association, reflecting her active engagement in professional and community networks within the IP field.
