For more than 25 years, Claudine Meredith-Goujon has advised some of the world’s largest companies and private equity firms on identifying, valuing, protecting and leveraging intellectual property assets that sit at the centre of multibillion-dollar transactions and major corporate restructurings.
Throughout her career, she has led IP workstreams on transactions for leading private equity firms and their portfolio companies, including 3G Capital, Apollo, General Atlantic and Roark, as well as major corporations such as Carrier, Crown Castle, Kraft Heinz and Rite Aid.
She has particular expertise in advising on eponymous brands, including Estée Lauder, Kate Spade and Tory Burch.
Meredith-Goujon has advised on a number of significant transactions in which IP played a central role in value creation and execution. These include advising 3G Capital on its $9 billion acquisition of Skechers; and Keurig Dr Pepper on strategic investments in connection with its acquisition of JDE Peet’s and planned separation into two public companies.
Beyond her practice, Meredith-Goujon is committed to education and professional development. She teaches the IP and technology component of an M&A course at NYU School of Law and serves on the advisory board of the Fashion, Arts, Media & Entertainment (FAME) Law Center at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and frequently speaks on legal trends in fashion, brand licensing, and emerging copyright issues.
