With over 20 years of experience in trademark law, Claire Lehr delivers strategic, pragmatic and commercially focused advice to clients across a broad range of industries.

Lehr is reputed for contentious and non-contentious trademark matters, with extensive experience handling opposition proceedings, co-existence agreements, enforcement strategies and complex multi-jurisdictional disputes.
Her international experience spans the UK, EU and US legal markets. Lehr’s earlier career included in-house legal work at Dalgety and Adidas in Amsterdam, as well as private practice experience in leading German IP firms and US law firms, before progressing to partnership roles in specialist IP and commercial firms.
This international background informs her commercially grounded, cross-border approach to brand protection and dispute resolution.
Lehr has also litigated trademark disputes through to appellate level, including proceedings before the General Court in Luxembourg, and is known for providing highly valued second-opinion advice on complex portfolio and enforcement strategies.
She is a member of Marques, where she serves as chair of the programming team. She is also a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), contributing to committees including the Unreal Campaign Committee. She regularly participates in international conferences and speaking engagements, including Marques and INTA’s Trademark Administrators and Practitioners (TMAP) events.
She also plays a leadership role within Edwin Coe through her co-chairing of the firm’s Charities and Communities Committee, reflecting her broader commitment to professional engagement and community involvement.
