Team overview:
Co-chair of the IP Litigation Practice Group, Mark Selwyn is a go-to adviser for many of Silicon Valley’s most prominent technology companies. His practice spans a broad range of technologies, from biomedical innovations to wireless communications, and he is frequently recognised for delivering decisive results in complex, business-critical matters.
Boston-based partner William (Bill) Lee is acknowledged as one of the pre-eminent trial and appellate lawyers of his generation. Having tried more than 200 cases to verdict, he has served as lead counsel in some of the most high-profile patent disputes of the past decade. A peer captures his standing succinctly: “He is a titan of the bar—brilliant, highly effective, and genuinely likeable. That combination is incredibly rare.” Lee has acted as lead trial counsel for Apple in a series of major matters against Intel and Qualcomm and continues to earn regular plaudits from industry publications for his courtroom achievements.
As vice chair of the IP Litigation Practice Group, Mary (Mindy) Sooter plays a central role in the firm’s most significant patent matters. She advises leading medical device, telecommunications and technology companies and is particularly valued for her ability to translate highly technical engineering concepts into clear, persuasive narratives for judges and juries.
