Key matters:

  • Masimo v Apple

Morgan Lewis partner Jeremy Anapol was part of the team representing Masimo in its high-profile patent infringement dispute with Apple, which resulted in a $634 million award to Masimo in November 2025.

  • Nike v Lululemon

In March 2025, a US jury awarded Nike $355,450 after finding that Lululemon’s athletic shoes violated the sports giant’s patent rights. The jury agreed with Nike that certain Lululemon shoes infringed a Nike patent, but rejected claims regarding another Nike patent.

At the time, a Lululemon spokesperson called the damages “nominal” and said the company was “very pleased” with the noninfringement verdict on the second patent. They indicated that the company intended to appeal the infringement ruling.

Later, the PTAB invalidated the patent underlying the verdict.

Ali Razai, Jason White and Brandon Smith of Morgan Lewis represented Lululemon.

  • Multimedia Technologies v LG Electronics et al

Morgan Lewis secured a complete trial victory in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas for LG Electronics in a smart TV patent case, with a unanimous jury finding no infringement of any of the asserted television‑related patents and invalidating the asserted claims, a decisive win for the client in a complex hardware/consumer electronics patent dispute.
