Key matters:
- Dryrobe v D-Robe
Lewis Silkin acted for D-Robe in its widely-discussed dispute with Dryrobe. In December 2025, the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court ruled that D-Robe had infringed the ‘Dryrobe’ trademark and committed passing off. The judge found that Dryrobe remained a distinctive brand name, not a generic term, with the case addressing the concept of ‘genericide’.
