Rouse expands its IP enforcement team with TikTok hire
Oliver Walsh joins from TikTok to lead the firm’s Evidence Services and Anti-Piracy practice | Chris Bailey moves to London to lead UK and EU enforcement operation.
In response to “client need and the changing anti-counterfeiting landscape” Rouse has announced two senior appointments in its Enforcement Team.
Oliver Walsh, previously IP operations manager for Asia Pacific and Latin America at TikTok, is joining Rouse as global head of the firm’s Evidence Services and Anti-Piracy lead.
Walsh, based in Bangkok, will draw on his anti-piracy experience and 10 years in the UK police force to manage and grow the firm’s investigations and evidence collection services, Rouse said in a statement.
Enforcement global service head, Nick Redfearn said: “We are very pleased to welcome Oliver and that he has chosen to join Rouse at an exciting period in our growth.
“His experience at TikTok and IFPI, MPA before that will bring a multitude of benefits to our clients. Rouse began life as an anti-counterfeiting firm and Oliver’s appointment demonstrates that we are evolving our service as our clients’ challenges also change.”
Walsh said Rouse has “always been at the forefront of IP enforcement”.
“Their understanding of counterfeiting hotspots is unparalleled as is their anti-piracy experience. I am delighted to be instrumental in taking the service into the future,” said Walsh.
Meanwhile, Chris Bailey, who has been with Rouse since it first opened in Asia in 1995, has moved to London. Bailey will lead enforcement services in the UK and EU.
Since his arrival, he has launched a blog, “ The Knockoff”, on LinkedIn to share stories, experiences and opinions on anti-counterfeiting in China.
