Taylor Wessing recruits tech partner with brands expertise

The appointment forms part of the firm’s response to growing demand for IP services globally.

Taylor Wessing has appointed Anneka Dalton as a partner in its international IP practice.

The company says it is investing in response to client demand for more global IP services.

Dalton, who begins her role on October 9 at the firm’s London office, brings “significant” experience and strong relationships with multinational clients in the tech, e-commerce, healthcare and consumer sectors.

She joins from Hogan Lovells, where she  built a strong reputation for brand litigation and contentious work, as well as for advising clients on all aspects of brand strategy and the development, protection, exploitation, and enforcement of IP rights.

Head of Taylor Wessing's UK technology, IP and information team Graham Hann said: “Anneka's expertise and experience perfectly complements and strengthens our existing client offering and sector focus.

“IP is a major strategic focus for the firm and client demand is growing. We are investing in response to that demand.”

Dalton said of her new role: “I am excited by the opportunity to continue to build my practice and client relationships as part of one of the largest and most successful IP practices in Europe.

“The firm offers both a strong platform and an inclusive culture, which I and my clients will value greatly.”

This hire follows Taylor Wessing’s recent announcement of the establishment of a new IP capability in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), with the hire of Munir Suboh, who joined the firm’s Dubai office. Suboh is skilled in IP, media, trademarks, copyrights, cybersecurity and technology-related matters in that marketplace.
