Annsley Merelle Ward, WilmerHale

Overview:

Annsley Merelle Ward, a partner at US firm WilmerHale’s London office, is known for her representation of clients across the life sciences, technology, and telecommunications sectors in complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes.

With her background in chemical engineering, Ward acts for some of the world’s leading innovative technology companies in high tech IP disputes ranging from wireless technology, radiotherapy/MRI, and algorithmic trading to TNF-inhibitors, respiratory products, and molecular diagnostics. Ward has appeared in cases before the UK High Court, the Court of Appeal and the European Patent Office.

Beyond her practice, she is known for her contributions to IP blog IPKat and her commitment to mentoring the next generation of IP lawyers. A peer says: “She is integral to the firm’s relationship with key tech clients. On top of that, she organises the UK chapter of ChIPs—advancing and connecting women in technology, law and policy.

“She is also active in the IP Federation. She’s brilliant. I don’t know where she finds the hours in her day, frankly.”
