Wynne-Jones IP hires patent attorney from Finnegan
Wynne-Jones IP has appointed an attorney from Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner to its head office in Cheltenham, UK.
Martin Hyden, who joins the firm as a trademark and patent attorney, previously served as a partner at Finnegan.
Before that, he served as international service head for patents at Rouse. He also worked in-house as IP counsel at oilfield services provider Schlumberger for a number of years before going into private practice.
Based in Wynne-Jones’ patent team, Hyden will assist corporations and individuals in managing complex and global IP portfolios. He will also assist and tutor patent attorney trainees at Wynne-Jones.
Hyden’s expertise covers the oilfield, defence, and semiconductor industries, and he has represented clients in opposition and appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office.
Ian Lambert, leading partner at Wynne-Jones, said that although Hyden’s practice will mainly focus on patents, his trademark and design knowledge will “undoubtedly” be an asset, “as will his international expertise across many sectors of our client portfolio”.
