Smith Anderson hires IP counsel with AI expertise
Smith Anderson has added electrical engineer Ed Roney as counsel in the firm’s North Carolina office.
Based in Smith Anderson’s technology practice group, Roney’s practice will focus on IP licensing and litigation as well as trademark preparation and prosecution. He has expertise in conducting IP due diligence and managing inter partes review proceedings.
Additionally, Roney will work with the firm’s start-ups team to assist clients with their IP portfolio management.
Roney advises clients on IP matters relating to telecoms, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, the internet of things, software, and robotics.
