Potter Clarkson hires Gill Jennings & Every partners

Potter Clarkson has expanded its London operation with the addition of two lawyers from Gill Jennings & Every.

Peter Finnie and Fiona Stevens join the Potter Clarkson team as partners, tasked with helping to build a team of patent attorneys and IP solicitors for the firm’s office in the city.

The appointments follow a period of growth for Potter Clarkson, which has seen its staff numbers increase to more than 200 across its European offices.

Steve Smith, managing partner of the firm, said: “We have grown not only in numbers, but also in the range of services we offer, across borders and in turnover. To support this growth and the evolving needs of our ambitious clients, we need the very brightest minds and that is exactly what we have in Peter and Fiona.”

Finnie handles high-value standards-essential patents in the telecoms field and routinely appears before the European Patent Office and the UK Intellectual Property Office at oral proceedings. He specialises in telecoms, electronics, software, artificial intelligence, medtech and fintech.

Stevens focuses her practice on the pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology fields. She has successfully guided clients in the pharmaceutical industries through fund-raising rounds and partnering successes, helping them raise in excess of £300 million ($394.6 million) in investment over the past few years.
