Osborne Clarke appoints new partner in Berlin

Latest promotion comes as firm unveils 72 new partners in Germany.

Osborne Clarke has appointed Robert Briske as an IP partner for its Berlin office.

The firm is starting the new year with a total of 72 partners at its four German offices in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich.

Briske joined Osborne Clarke in 2016 as a member of the IP practice group.

According to the firm, Briske’s technical expertise “benefits him at the IP/IT interface, particularly in the area of digital regulation and litigation”.

Briske represents and advises international and domestic clients in the field of IP law, with a special focus on trademark, copyright and unfair competition litigation as well as extrajudicial representation.

In addition he has expertise in the area of information technology, press law as well as licensing and distribution.

His work encompasses litigation at all levels of courts, including infringement litigation before the civil courts and invalidity cases before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the German Federal Patent Court, and the European courts.

Briske's international and domestic clients include companies in the industry sectors sports, entertainment, media, fashion, consumer goods, tourism and tech, media and comms.

The firm said in a statement that: “A particular focus of our latest round of promotions is…on colleagues who combine their specialisms in an interdisciplinary manner in order to provide our clients with tailor-made advice at the cutting edge.”
