Nixon Peabody expands tech team with new counsel

Patent litigation and patent procurement expert grows the firm’s capabilities in key technology industries.

Nixon Peabody has strengthened its IP practice with the addition of Hang (Helena) Zheng, who joins the firm as counsel.

Zheng's expertise lies in patent litigation and patent procurement, particularly in the domains of electronic devices, cell phone and wireless communication technology, LCD/LED display technology, semiconductor processes, artificial intelligence, video compression standards, electro-mechanical technology, circuit design, memory devices, medical devices, materials science, and software engineering.

She also handles trademark issues, IP transaction due diligence, and IP counselling across various industries.

Zheng makes the move from Morgan Lewis and will be based in Nixon Peabody's Washington, DC office.

Zheng has represented clients before bodies such as the International Trade Commission, US Patent and Trademark Office, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Helena holds a JD from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. She obtained an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, Anderson School of Management, an MScEng in electrical engineering from Princeton University, and a BS in materials science from Fudan University in China.
