Baker Botts hires former US government attorney
Law firm Baker Botts has appointed patent trial lawyer Lisa Kattan as a partner in its intellectual property practice group, based in its Washington, DC office.
Kattan has 17 years of experience in litigation and IP law, both in private practice and at the International Trade Commission’s (ITC) office of unfair import investigations.
At the ITC, Kattan took numerous investigations through trial, mostly in the high-tech industry, including several high-profile cases during the 'smartphone wars'.
“Lisa has served as the lead attorney on behalf of the US government in a number of high-profile patent litigation cases covering a wide range of technologies. This experience will serve as a real benefit for our clients,” said Andrew Baker, managing partner of Baker Botts.
Bart Showalter, chair of the firm’s intellectual property practice group, added: “Lisa is a widely-respected lawyer with a wealth of experience in appearing before the ITC and district courts with regard to complex IP issues, and will be able to provide our clients with outstanding advice and counsel.”
