White & Case has appointed partner Anita Varma as its new head of global IP.
Varma replaces Dimitrios Drivas, a New York-based partner in the firm’s global IP practice group.
Based in the firm’s Boston office, Varma has served as a partner at White & Case since 2017, joining the firm after 15 years at Ropes & Gray.
Varma said she was “delighted” at the appointment.
“We intend to build upon this and further strengthen the breadth and depth of our practice while continuing to provide clients the highest level of expertise,” she said.
Drivas, her predecessor, added that Varma was a “leading IP practitioner with rare experience in global IP issues”.
