Perkins Coie appoints new partner

US law firm Perkins Coie has expanded its New York office with the appointment of Ann Schofield Baker as a partner.

She will join the firm’s commercial litigation practice, focusing on IP and other complex commercial matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Schofield Baker was head of McKool Smith’s national trademark and copyright litigation practice. She has experience representing companies in the fashion, technology and film industries.

Schuyler Carroll, office managing partner of the firm’s New York office, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ann to Perkins Coie and our growing New York office.”

“Her trial experience adds bench strength to our powerhouse IP practice and her representation of some of the world’s leading luxury and consumer brands in important IP and commercial matters enhances our overall capabilities both here in New York and nationally,” he added.

William Rava, chair of Perkins Coie’s IP litigation practice, said: “Ann’s substantive IP experience and success as a first-chair trial lawyer is a perfect fit for our national IP litigation practice.”

“She is highly regarded for her commitment to her clients, her unerring judgement, and her practical, creative and goal-focused approach to problem-solving,” he added.
