Michael Best boosts IP team in Wisconsin
US-based law firm Michael Best has strengthened its IP group with the addition of Scott Diring as senior counsel in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Diring, who joins from Amerson Law Firm, focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counselling.
He counsels technology clients in a range of sectors including software, semiconductor, telecoms, and medical devices.
Michael Best has also hired Christian Schaefer, a former associate at K&L Gates, as an associate in Milwaukee.
Schaefer counsels clients on patent portfolio management, procurement, strategy and prosecution in the US and internationally.
Glen Weitzer, chair of Michael Best’s IP practice group, said: “They’re fantastic additions, and their skillset and background will mesh perfectly with our current teams in Wisconsin and nationally.”
In May, Michael Best added Arimi Yamada as a partner in its Washington, DC office. Yamada joined the firm from Typha IP, where she was a founding partner, and focuses on IP and patent matters for Japanese businesses with operations in the US.
