Kudelski v Yahoo patent dispute rumbles on

Digital security company the Kudelski Group has accused Yahoo of infringing ten of its patents through the Yahoo TV service.

In a counterclaim filed at the US District Court for the Northern District of California yesterday, April 12, the company asserted the patents through its subsidiary OpenTV, an interactive television service.

According to a statement by the group, it has identified several infringing products and services, including Yahoo Smart TV, Yahoo Connected TV, and Yahoo fantasy gaming.

OpenTV’s filing responds to a complaint for declaratory judgment filed by Yahoo in January this year. In that action, Yahoo said it did not infringe seven patents that the Kudelski Group had asserted against it.
