Jones Day opens IP agency in China
Jones Day has launched a fully-licensed Chinese IP agency, following increasing demand for IP consultancy services—particularly for trademarks and copyright.
The agency will handle a wide range of non-patent IP matters in China including: devising and implementing anti-counterfeiting strategies, conducting administrative raid and market sweep actions, handling trademark matters before the China Trademark Office, and attending seizures by Chinese customs.
“The agency is a significant addition to our worldwide services portfolio,” said Horace Lam, partner in Beijing. “We are committed to enhancing our local knowledge, understanding and capabilities, and the development of our own IP agency is a critical element of our practice here in China.”
