Duane Morris appoints Asia IP head, expands Austin office
It’s been a busy week for Duane Morris—the firm has appointed a head of IP in Asia and expanded its Austin, Texas office.
Kening Li joined Duane Morris as a partner and Duane Morris & Selvam as a director in the firm’s Shanghai office. He has also been appointed as head of IP in Asia. Duane Morris & Selvam is a joint law venture of Duane Morris and Singapore-based Selvam.
Li joins from Miller Canfield Paddock and Stone and has experience in worldwide IP procurement and enforcement, including patent litigation in China and the US, and patent and trademark prosecution.
“The strength of Duane Morris’s IP practice in the US and our IP-focused office in Taiwan makes the expansion of our Asian practice in Shanghai a natural progression of our worldwide strategy,” said Norwood Jameson, chair of Duane Morris’s IP practice group.
The firm has also expanded its Austin, Texas office with the addition of Pierre Hubert and Alex Gonzales as partners in the IP and corporate practices, respectively.
Hubert previously served as a principal at McKool Smith.
He focuses his practice on IP litigation, including patent infringement matters in complex electrical- and computer-related technology.
