Five shareholders at Brinks Gilson & Lione have been re-appointed as chairs of the firm’s internal groups, while a sixth is heading a new group.
All six work in the firm’s offices across Michigan.
Michael Spink will serve a fourth term as chair of the intellectual asset management group, while Margaret Dobrowitsky will take on a fifth term as the licensing group’s chair. Bill Boudreaux will continue as co-chair of the biotechnology & pharmaceuticals industry practice group, Eric Sosenko as chair of the mechanical group and Lawrence Almeda as chair of the nanotechnology group.
This year the firm added a new practice group that specialises in post-grant patent review proceedings, which were introduced by the America Invents Act. Kelly Burris co-chairs this new practice group, and continues as chair of the firm’s green technology industry practice group.
Additionally, Steven Oberholtzer has been elected to a new one-year term as a member of Brinks’s board of directors. It is Oberholtzer’s fourth time serving on the board.
Brinks has 160 attorneys, advisors and patent agents who specialise in IP.
